92 INSPIRED INTERIORS
BELOW TOP LEFT: My client loved her existing sofas so much she wouldn't buy this new home unless they would fit in the long, wide, contemporary living room—luckily,
they did! They prove that classic pieces with great lines can work just about anywhere, f rom a traditional 1940s Southern home to a contemporary renovation.
BELOW TOP RIGHT: An abundance of white walls made art important in this home, as well as neutral-colored furnishings in family-f riendly fabrics that could stand up to
kids and a dog. Soft surfaces and splashes of color encourage playtime f rom both.
BELOW BOTTOM: Though the husband actively plays the grand piano, it wasn't the ultimate focal point in this double-sized living room. Book-matched quartzite slabs
add interest without distracting f rom the incredible bayou views. The goal was a room that felt pleasant and full of light, but blended the two sides of the space and didn't
compete with the windows.
