332 INSPIRED INTERIORS
BELOW & FACING PAGE: When we designed this Pebble Beach home for a power couple moving West, our goal was to create the Zen-like retirement retreat they
requested on the Pacific Ocean. We knew we succeeded when the homeowners texted to tell us that the views were no less magical than those of the Australian outback
they had seen while traveling. We chose quiet, simple materials that are equally beautiful and practical. Because there are dogs and cats who live there too, we selected
forgiving surfaces that were beautiful and cleanable, yet tough.
PREVIOUS PAGE: The home is surrounded by a variety of indigenous grasses. It took about five months for them to become lush and full, giving the property a warm, lived-
in look that the homeowners love. Expansive windows show off the stunning blue skies and sweeping ocean vistas.
