ABOVE AND LEFT: As the designers of the home as well as the certified passive house consultant and a
passive certified builder, we didn't miss any energy details. The blending of passive design with elevated
ideals throughout the home hinged on the southwestern-facing courtyard. It provides privacy, security, and
connection to the outdoors. We also moved the southern façade away f rom the neighbor, which allows for
solar gain in the winter.
