ABOVE & FACING PAGE: Like the tea ceremony, there are no embellishments in the project—everything has a purpose, and everything is considered. Walnut doors set into
caseless arched thresholds have a recurring role throughout the apartment to enliven otherwise mundane transitions. Lighting has been thoughtfully crafted to be useful
for all tasks, but subtle in its expression. Finally, all base details, millwork, and surfaces were crafted with limited joints and maximum surface area, to maintain the cleanest
look possible. As Jon Franklin once wrote, "Simplicity carried to its extreme becomes elegance."
