152 Masters of Landscape Lighting ABOVE: These rear windows allow for a rare 200-degree view, and the lighting design was crafted with this space in mind. With the initial absence of outdoor lighting, the windows turned into large mirrors reflecting the interior light back into the room and making the space feel cramped. After LUC added strategic lighting, the room transformed, helping the viewer feel like they were outdoors enjoying nature. TOP LEFT: Some trees beg to be seen at night. This specimen, located on the front right border of the property, screamed with character and looked significantly better once LUC combined up and down lighting. BOTTOM LEFT: LUC showed their client that it's possible to have the functionality of lighting without sacrificing the natural beauty of a space. The team celebrated the central Japanese maple with up and down lighting and lit the surrounding trees, while allowing the client to see their dogs, no matter their position in the courtyard. FACING PAGE: When friends and family are greeted in the driveway, there is no rush to go inside. This seating area is the focal point of the scene. LUC used a single pendant light to illuminate the space from above, creating a warm, welcoming area in the front of the home that almost beckons the viewer to come and rest.
