Art of Celebration | 2 E For Deborah Elias, the creative process of event planning is undoubtedly fun, but her success ultimately lies with spreadsheets, production schedules, an immense amount of organization, and logistics like you've never seen before. And Deborah loves every aspect of it. After attaining a degree in biomedical science, Deborah realized that her knack for details would be better served where her passion lies—in planning events. After much soul-searching and many heated discussions with her father, she decided to forego medical school and followed her passion by starting Elias Events, which quickly became known for flawless celebrations. Just as excited for each new event as she was with her first, she spends countless hours hashing out the details, browsing trade shows and pop culture for inspiration, and adjusting the plans based on feedback. Deborah weaves integrity throughout every step of the planning process and operates with an honest, above-board approach. The resulting trust and communication translates into respect from her fellow professionals, helps the event crew to actualize solutions, and frees the host to enjoy the event. Whether Elias Events is working on one aspect of the event or is acting as the one-stop-shop for the entire soirée, the outcome always includes stunning works of art and guests who are truly entertained. After seeing an event she planned with a former President in attendance, Deborah's father no longer questions her decision to go into the event industry; he even said that he was very proud of his daughter. E l i a s E v E n t s An event for 1,000 people needed something that really made a first impression upon the guests' arrival. Since the event's logo—Let Us Entertain You—was prominently displayed throughout the celebration, I worked with an ice designer to create a stunning hanging ice curtain with the logo in ice as the centerpiece. The sun coming in from the windows and lights coming from behind made the pieces sparkle. D E b o r A h E L I A S h o U S T o n , T E x A S
