ABOVE: The exterior of the pool house glows at night. A
sliding glass wall opens the pool house to the outdoors
during pleasant weather. The blocky Thermory wood
insert that frames the hot tub can be seen on the left side of
the façade.
FACING PAGE: Thermory wood surrounds the hot tub and
creates a frame for the view of the Three Sisters mountains in
the distance. Flitch beams span the width of the pool house.
Made of a piece of plate steel sandwiched between two fir
beams and then bolted together, flitch beams offer structural
support while taking up little space. Cedar ceilings and a
long skylight crown the room.
