A R C H I T E CT U R E 125 BELOW: Ample overhangs and large-scale brackets create interesting outdoor spaces at the Seaglass Cottage and provide for outdoor living, even on rainy days. Open patios for sunbathing and a front deck that steps down to a lawn and garden overlooking the ocean offer the owners and their guests a variety of ways to commune with nature. FACING PAGE TOP: Modeled after Diane Keaton's beach home in "Something's Gotta Give," the Seaglass Cottage features high ceilings and recessed lighting above the patio doors that swing outward and open the interiors to the outside. Colors inspired by seaglass—a favorite of the couple—combine in a soothing color palette in the living area. FACING PAGE BOTTOM: The expansive statuary marble- topped island is a focal point of the kitchen. Large windows allow light to flood the space, while a charming cottage door offers a way for a light breeze to blow in on pleasant days. Photographs by Linda Sabiston, First Impression Photography "Never compromise on the dream for your home, rather let that dream lead you to discover the real heart of how you will live in it." –Walter Powell, Architect AIBC
