I N T E R I O R D E S I G N 72 RIGHT: A playful mix of materials makes the small kitchen delightful. The cabinetry features a dark stain with cobalt mixed in to give it a slight blue metallic look. Below: The adjacent living room features glass panels on the ceiling that filter the light from recessed fixtures, and a metallic column behind the sectional that includes cobalt in the finish to tie in with the kitchen. Tiles surround the hardwood living area, giving the space a hotel-like feel. FACING PAGE TOP: A mid-century modern rebuild included an addition to the front of the home. The fireplace near the back of the floorplan extends to the outdoors and is faced on one side with its original stone. On the opposite side, a new concrete hearth infuses the dining room with some modern luxury. An antique Chinese screen acquired by the owner was installed in the entryway to create separation without sacrificing light or style. FACING PAGE BOTTOM: The home's master bathroom features clean lines and modern fixtures. Opposite the sink, bright blue tile catches the natural light that floods the space via the nearby window.
