Over the decades, J. Lohr's acclaimed portfolio of wines has helped to build the flavorful reputation of both regions, cementing Monterey County's status as a preeminent location for growing vibrant whites, and Paso's stature for producing voluptuous reds. At the same time, Jerry has gathered together a skilled and dedicated team of individuals, many of whom have been with J. Lohr for decades. This J. Lohr Winery team includes longtime winemaker and EVP-COO Jeff Meier, Monterey County Vineyard Manager Agapito Vazquez and Paso Robles Vineyard Manager Steve Carter, who collectively share over 65 years of experience. In the vineyards, J. Lohr's full-time vineyard crew averages approximately 10 years each with the company. All of this benefits J. Lohr with unprecedented levels of experience, consistency and continuity—factors that ensure great wines. J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines has also been shaped by the passion and expertise of a second generation of the Lohr family. Daughter Cynthia leads corporate and product visibility efforts as vice president of marketing and son Steve is chief operating officer-executive vice president of J. Lohr Vineyards' growing vineyard holdings. Youngest son Lawrence Lohr advocates wine appreciation and history as director of wine education. Collectively, they have joined Jerry with an eye toward preserving family involvement in the winery—alongside J. Lohr's extended employee family—for generations to come.
