in the vineyard, the soil conditions vary as well. Its five unique
topography areas include clay, limestone, schist—medium-sized
mineral rocks—and gravel along with sandy topsoils.
These climate and soil conditions make Destiny Ridge a prime
location for a multitude of varietals. Here, the Boyles and
their team have planted Riesling, Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc,
Roussanne, Marsanne, Merlot, Malbec, Tempranillo, Mourvèdre,
Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and
Petit Verdot.
The partnership that Jarrod has with the land includes
sustainable vineyard management, which integrates three
goals: environmental health, economic profitability, and social
and economic equity. Sustainability is the consistent goal for
the winery and its team, who take their role in land stewardship
seriously. As they have traveled the world and seen what other
wineries have done, the Boyles are even more appreciative of
the fertile land from which their grapes come. It's simply perfect
for wine.
Located among rolling hills, the winery occupies a large red
barn. Set among the green of the hills and the vines, the contrast
of color is absolutely stunning. Casitas—really, tiny houses—are
available for guest lodging and tie in the barn's bold red color.
