In fact, Lacey and Charlie glean their inspiration from France's
prized Rhône region, working exclusively with Rhône varietals
to craft both traditional and progressive blends including reds
from Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Counoise, and Cinsault
grapes and whites from Viognier, Roussanne, Marsanne,
Grenache Blanc, and Picpoul grapes.
They believe Washington provides the opportunity for ultra-
premium grape-growing conditions. In addition to their own
estate vineyard, they carefully select other vineyards based on
location, climate, and soil types that are best suited for each
of the grape varietals. Each of their vineyard rows is farmed to
exact specifications, so that they can control the quality.
Because every growing region has its own unique
characteristics, Lacey and Charlie source fruit from all over
the state. This level of variety garners many different flavor
profiles while allowing for a true tailoring of the wines to
precisely what they have envisioned. At the end of the day, it's
all about creating memorable wines that they are proud to call
Cairdeas—and to share with friends, naturally!
