Market Vineyards
RICHLAND
If you could bottle passion and commitment, it would probably have the
flavor and body of a Market Vineyards wine. The team is driven by these two
qualities, and it shows up in every bottle, offering drinkers standout wines
that are hard to come by.
Steve Anderson, Bob Bertsch, Kelly Precechtel Bright, Matt Riesenweber,
and Dan Schulte opened Market Vineyards in 2008 with the notion that high
standards must be maintained at every step of the winemaking process.
Harvested in the Columbia Valley and Red Mountain growing regions, the
grapes for Market Vineyards' wines are hand-picked with careful attention
to detail. Market Vineyards has established a longstanding relationship with
Red Mountain vineyards, allowing the winery to select, blend, and highlight
the best regional fruit. Winemaker Charlie Hoppes—one of Washington's
best—uses American and custom French oak barrels, all hand-selected, to
age the wines for anywhere from 22 to 36 months. Bold merlots, full-bodied
cabernets, and memorable Bordeaux-style wines are the results.
There are tasting rooms in both Richland and Woodinville where guests can
sample an array of varietals. But if you're looking to really taste the good stuff,
you'd be wise to join the Market Vineyards Wine Club. It features exclusive
bottles for members only with biannual releases. Syrah, Malbec, Cabernet,
and Merlot for instance, are produced from 100 percent Red Mountain grapes
and available to members only through special releases. You can opt for
either the Bear or Bull Market Club—aptly named after the partners' years of
LEFT Produced with passion, Market Vineyards' wine
exemplifies the best Washington State has to offer.
