He helped plant the original vines and knows the terroir like
the back of his hand. He and Bob have also perfected the
punch-down techniques that create consistently delicious
Cascade Cliffs wines. General Manager Jared Germain has
worked in a variety of positions in the wine industry: wine
steward, sommelier, writer, blogger, educator, and his personal
favorite, "Cork Dork." His certifications with The Court of
Master Sommeliers and The Society of Wine Educators, as
well as his extensive travels, help educate visitors on the ins
and outs of the wine industry.
Not only does Cascade Cliffs boast three tasting rooms—one
at the winery in Wishram, another in Hood River, Oregon, and
a third in Woodinville, Washington—but the winery also offers
different wine clubs to suit discerning tastes. The Piedmont
Club showcases Bob's affinity for the Piedmont varietals
Barbera, Dolcetto, and Nebbiolo. These varietals set Cascade
Cliffs apart from most producers in the United States and
as one of the very first vineyards in the Pacific Northwest to
grow these varietals, Cascade Cliffs offers its Piedmont Club
members an exclusive opportunity to enjoy these wines-
considered to be among the Best of the Best.
The Barbera Club focuses exclusively on the winery's superstar
wine: Barbera. Barbera Club members receive a mixed case
of new release Barbera wines in the spring and a six pack of
