RED MOUNTAIN BLEND
gourmet pairings
A rustic, savory ratatouille tart
filled with stewed Provençal-
style summer vegetables. The
earthy eggplant and vibrant
tomato against a flaky tart are
the perfect backdrop for this
wine to shine.
tasting notes
The dark, purple-black color alludes to this blend's aromas
of black cherry, blackberry, anise, nutmeg, dried ginger, and
cinnamon. Hints of pomegranate and dark cocoa also play on
the palate with just a touch of aged leather. In the mouth, this
wine is full with nicely balanced acidity. Flavors of earthy fruit
and toasted hazelnut linger into a lush and satisfying finish. It's a
cozy-up-to-the-fire kind of wine.
winemaker's insight
This blend's grapes hail from Hedges, Jolet, Bel' Villa, Les
Gosses, and Magdalena vineyards on Red Mountain. The
grapes are destemmed and partially crushed into stainless steel
fermenters. The must is pumped over twice daily until desired
tannin extraction is achieved and then gently pressed to barrels
where it undergoes malolactic fermentation and aging.
