220 Signature Wines and Wineries of Washington TOP: We couldn't be more pleased than seeing our tasting room guests enjoying our wine. Photographs courtesy of VanArnam Vineyards During harvest, each cluster is also picked by hand. After fermentation in small fermenters, each wine is drained straight from the fermenting bins—called free run—and gives the wine a smooth palate without harsh tannins. While the winemaking team may sometimes add a bit of lightly-pressed wine to a vintage for fuller mouthfeel, the focus is on creating exceptionally high-quality, free-run wine. Wine critics and fans of VanArnam Vineyards agree—the choice to specialize in free run wine makes the winery's offerings something truly special. Whether you want to sample VanArnam Vineyards' bold Cabernet Sauvignon, or the Syrah, Merlot, Malbec, or Cabernet Franc, a visit to the winery is nothing short of magical. Throughout the year, the wine, the views, and events draw visitors to the sloping vineyards and Tuscan-inspired winery: Red Wine and Chocolate, the Spring Barrel Tasting, Catch the Crush, and Thanksgiving in Wine Country.
