On the nose, look for blueberry, raspberry, sage, thyme, wet
slate, and freshly turned earth. "Foundation" Cabernet Franc's
amazing softness and smoothness on the palate simply delight.
Blueberry, lavender, thyme, and sawdust come through, and
tannins are never too punchy. The finish holds up this complex
wine with grace and balance. If ever there was a wine to be
savored, it's this one.
winemaker's insight
Fruit sourced from Stillwater Creek, Destiny Ridge, and Upland
Vineyard was brought together to craft the medium tannin
structure of this wine. The fruit remains on the vine longer for this
wine than our other offerings, to give it a chance to develop to
its full potential, which reminds us of fall in Seattle—a mix of wet
earth, rain on cement, and dry leaves…our version of heaven.
