THE MODERN RESIDENCE
BELOW: When we designed the Long Dune Residence in Truro, Massachusetts, we wanted it to respond to three distinct views: primarily the Atlantic
Ocean, but also the Pamet River and a nearby fresh-water pond. The home is perched on a coastal bluff in the Cape Cod National Seashore Park,
and was built to withstand the rough weather. The house is clad in western red cedar and mahogany that will age to a natural soft gray and blend
into the natural wooded landscape.
FACING PAGE: The entry side of the house presents a solid and private appearance, with thick, super-insulated wood-clad walls and narrow strip
windows enclosing bathrooms, outdoor showers, the laundry room, and other private spaces. Little of the view on the Atlantic facing side is revealed
until entering the house through a full-height glass door, which is evident as you approach the house.
