Kenneth Dahlin came across the work of Frank Lloyd Wright in a library book
when he was just 14, and was immediately inspired by the beauty and sense
of nature he saw in the legend's designs. He founded Genesis Architecture
in 1992 with the aim of creating his own organic and compelling buildings
in the vein of Wright, producing architecture that resonates with the human
soul as well as with nature.
Today, Dahlin is known for his specialization in Wrightian/organic design but
he also embraces the challenge of blending the desires of the homeowner
with the cues of the landscape. Creating a symphony of brick, wood, and
stone which will inspire the inhabitants for years to come is always the aim.
Knowing that materials and styles can be remodeled later but a house's
bones are much harder to change, Dahlin urges his clients to put the focus
on the timeless design principles of harmony, beauty, creativity, and context
while bringing their residences into the 21st century. A good sense of space
and light is vital, but nothing tops the satisfaction of living in a work of art
that enhances and inspires life.
